Indore, April 10th, 2026: Montra Electric, the clean mobility arm of the Murugappa Group, has expanded its footprint in Central India with the inauguration of its first electric small commercial vehicle (e-SCV) dealership in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The new dealership, operated by Sanghi Electric, marks a key step in bringing reliable and cost-efficient electric cargo solutions closer to fleet operators in the region.
Strategically located in one of Central India’s key logistics hubs, the Indore dealership will cater to customers across the city and surrounding markets such as Dewas, Ujjain, Ratlam, and the industrial belt of Pithampur. The facility will offer Montra Electric’s e-SCV portfolio, supported by dedicated sales and service infrastructure along with ready availability of spares to ensure consistent vehicle performance and uptime.
Indore has already emerged as one of Madhya Pradesh’s leading EV markets, with over 70,000 electric vehicles on the road, signalling strong on-ground acceptance of EVs in fleet-led applications. As the market matures, there is a clear shift underway towards higher payload electric vehicles, particularly in logistics-heavy cities like Indore.
The dealership will showcase the Montra Electric EVIATOR, a purpose-built electric small commercial vehicle engineered for commercial applications. The EVIATOR delivers 80 kW power and 300 Nm torque, along with a 10.4 ft loading deck and 1.7-ton payload capacity, making it well suited for urban delivery, last-mile transport, and cargo movement.
Powered by a liquid-cooled Lithium Iron Phosphate battery, the EVIATOR offers a real-world range of 170 km. It supports CCS2 fast charging, enabling up to 80 percent charge in about one hour through DC charging and approximately six hours via AC charging. With a top speed of 80 kmph, the vehicle is designed to meet the demands of daily logistics operations. Prices start at ₹16.44 lakh (ex-showroom).
Speaking on the launch, Mr. Jalaj Gupta, Managing Director, Montra Electric (TI Clean Mobility Private Limited), said, “India’s logistics ecosystem is undergoing a fundamental shift towards electrification, driven by the need for higher efficiency, lower operating costs, and sustainable growth. At Montra Electric, our focus is on building a future-ready mobility ecosystem that combines strong products with a dependable network. The launch of our first e-SCV dealership in Indore is a step forward in expanding this ecosystem and enabling businesses across emerging logistics hubs to transition confidently to electric mobility.”
Mr. Saju Nair, CEO, Montra Electric (e-SCV Division), said, “Central India, and Indore in particular, is seeing a clear shift in how fleet operators are approaching last-mile and intra-city logistics. Customers are now looking beyond just acquisition cost and are focused on reliability, uptime, and overall cost of ownership. Our presence in Indore allows us to work closely with customers, understand their operations, and deliver solutions like the EVIATOR that are purpose-built for their daily business needs.”
Mr. Rohit Sanghi, Dealer Principal, Sanghi Electric, said, “We are seeing strong interest from fleet operators in Indore who are keen to adopt electric vehicles, especially when the solution offers both performance and predictable running costs. With Montra Electric, we are confident of bringing a product that customers can trust, backed by a strong service ecosystem. This dealership will enable us to support customers more closely and accelerate EV adoption in the region.”
The inauguration of the Indore dealership further strengthens Montra Electric’s growing retail and service network across India, as the company continues to expand access to sustainable and efficient commercial mobility solutions.
